Harry Potter celebration on sale at Universal

Universal Orlando's "Celebration of Harry Potter" went on sale Thursday, offering fans a three-day spell starting Jan. 24 that will include Q&As with actors and filmmakers, a film tribute and special wand dueling classes. While most of the activities will be open to all visitors, only those who buy the special event package get reserved seating and select benefits. Packages run $395 to $695 per adult for three hotel nights, park tickets, a private evening event, a film tribute, Q&A sessions, a wand master class with Paul Harris (the choreographer who trained the cast of the Potter films) and early park admission. Universal held a similar event in November 2011 attended by Rupert Grint, who played Ron Weasley, and the premiere packages sold out in a day. The celebrities who will attend the Jan. 24-26 celebration will be announced later, Universal says. See universalorlando.com/celebration. — Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Times staff writer
