Art in the Park invites Vendors and exhibitors

It's not too late to sign up to participate in the Hernando County Arts Council's 29th annual Art in the Park, which will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at Tom Varn Park, 306 Darby Lane. The event features numerous fine art and craft exhibitors, a showcase of Florida Highwaymen art, a kids art zone, continuous entertainment, food and refreshments. Retired CEO appointed to water district board

Gov. Rick Scott has appointed Thomas E. "Tommy" Bronson to the Southwest Florida Water Management District's Governing Board, representing Hernando and Marion counties. Bronson, of Brooksville, is the retired CEO of Meridian Aggregates. He is a former member of the Withlacoochee Regional Planning Council. The term, effective as of Monday, will end March 1, 2016. The appointment is subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate. The governing board sets policy for the district. Board members are not paid.

Rep. Nugent to host town hall meeting

U.S. Rep. Rich Nugent will host a town hall meeting from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Hernando County Government Center, 20 N Main St. The meeting is one in a series of budget listening sessions. Correction

During the German-American Club of Spring Hill's inaugural ball, Jake Eidenschink was appointed delegate to the United German-American Society of Florida. Eidenschink's first name was incorrect on Sunday's Hometown Hernando pages.
