Spring Hill Garden Club plant sale: Purchase a variety of plants at budget-friendly prices. Plants grown at the gardens will be for sale. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Free admission, but donations appreciated. Night Hike at Chinsgut: Gather for a brief presentation prior to heading out on the trail. Hike begins at bat houses to watch more than 1,000 Brazilian free-tailed bats emerge for the evening. Springstead High School Flea Market: Vendors welcome; must provide own table, chair. Located in the theater parking lot. 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Vendor spaces are $10, which includes two car spaces. Springstead Theatre, 3300 Mariner Blvd., Spring Hill. (352) 683-3528.

Baby Bird Show: The educational day will include displays and talks about hawks and owls, guided nature walks and a performance by singer-songwriter Jonathan L. Widger. The event will include a silent auction, a white elephant sale, a bake sale and craft activities for the children. The fundraiser benefits the Hope Wildlife Rehabilitation organization, which is federally licensed to assist injured baby birds. Wish list items include: 'select-a-size' paper towels, unscented facial tissues, bath towels in dark colors, original blue Dawn liquid soap, Simple Green cleaning solution, laundry detergent and bleach, and Walmart or Home Depot gift cards. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is an item from the wish list. Master Gardener Spring Plant Sale: Biannual sale by Hernando County Master Gardeners, with hundreds of plants, from ground cover to trees, shrubs and perennials, specifically grown to tolerate local climate conditions. Experts will be on hand to answer gardening questions. Refreshments provided by 4-H will be available for purchase. Plant sale proceeds will benefit Master Gardener programs. Brush with the Blues 2017: Plein air event begins when artists sign in and all paper/canvas items are stamped. Work, without aid of photography, must be completed within the six-day event (April 8 to 14). Maps and restaurant information will be provided. Completed work must be at City Hall (open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.) on April 14. Participants must frame one or two pieces of finished work for judging. The reception and awards presentation will be April 23 — $300 for first place, $200 for second place, $100 for third place and three awards of $50 for honorable mentions. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $35 pre-registration, includes admission to the Florida Blueberry Festival and a T-shirt.
