Mannheim Steamroller, Macy's parade part of Universal holiday lineup

Mannheim Steamroller, a Grinchmas live show and the Macy's parade are back for Universal Orlando's holiday entertainment lineup from Dec. 7 to Jan. 4. Mannheim Steamroller, the instrumental spectacle of a Christmas supergroup, returns for six concert dates at Universal Studios' Music Plaza. The performances will be Dec. 7, 8, 14, 15, 21 and 22. Show time is 6 p.m. The Macy's Holiday Parade will wind through the streets of Universal Studios nightly. Many of the actual props and balloons used in the Thanksgiving Day parade in New York are shipped down to Universal Orlando for this event. The parade steps off at 5 p.m., except Dec. 26-31, when it begins at 8 p.m. Universal also features holiday versions of its Barney show and Blue Brothers street concerts. Islands of Adventure again will present "Grinchmas Wholiday Spectacular," a live musical starring the mean green being. These events are included in regular park admission. A one-day, one-park pass is $92 ($86 for ages 3-9). — Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Times Staff Writer
