Mark the date: This year's top Halloween parties and events

Here are some of the top Halloween events to look forward to in the next month around Tampa Bay:

A Nightmare on Franklin Street (Oct. 23-31): Tampa Theatre's annual Halloween series features nine nights of classic horror films and ghost tours. $10, $8 members at 711 Franklin St., Tampa. (813) 274-8982. tampatheatre.org.

The Exorcist Screening with Linda Blair (Oct. 29): Not only will audiences get to see the 1973 classic horror film on the big screen, they will participate in a Q&A with actor Linda Blair, who played the head-spinning Regan. $43 reserved seating, $103.50 VIP meet and greet at Tampa Theatre, 711 Franklin St., Tampa. 13 Ugly Men: 13 Ugly Sins (Oct. 23): These "ugly" men sure know how to party and all the pretty people show up, while local charities reap the benefits. This year marks the 18th annual sinful soiree. $25 for women, $35 for men. District 3, 802 E Whiting St., Tampa. (727) 744-6496. 13uglymen.com.

Guavaween, (Oct. 24): Once a raucous mob of costumed revelers parading down Ybor City, it's now a ticketed party at the Cuban Club. This year it takes on a post-apocalyptic theme in a Mad Max-style setting and steampunk fashion. Florida Orchestra Halloween Pops (Oct. 30-Nov. 1) It's a night of spooky songs from Broadway's Phantom of the Opera, Jekyll and Hyde and Sweeney Todd, as well as films like Harry Potter, Jaws and more with conductor Jeff Tyzik and vocalists Lisa Vroman and Doug LaBrecque. $15-$45. floridaorchestra.org.

Helloween 12 (Oct. 30): Jackson's in South Tampa, is always one of the biggest costume parties around, and this year comes with the theme "Twisted Fairy Tales," and $5,000 in costume contest prize money. There's a big Halloween party there on Oct. 31 as well, but the best night for costumes is this one at 601 S Harbour Island Blvd., Tampa. $10 women, $15 men, $20 VIP. piedpiperproductions.com.

Rocky Horror Picture Show 40th Anniversary Party (Oct. 30): Come to the Jannus Live patio dressed as your favorite Rocky Horror character for a viewing on a giant screen with a costume contest for cash prizes and prop bags for sale.
