More Irma cancellations: Scott Stapp, Sammy Hagar, Peppa Pig postponed at Ruth Eckerd Hall

More events and shows coming up this weekend will be canceled or postponed because of Hurricane Irma, with its power issues and travel disruptions making it difficult to get artists on stage.

Ruth Eckerd Hall has postponed seven shows that were to have run through Sunday at the venue, as well as shows at the Capitol Theatre and Coachman Park. This includes concerts by Sammy Hagar, Scott Stapp of Creed and Peppa Pig Live.

The facility didn't suffer any damage in Hurricane Irma, said Ruth Eckerd Hall spokeswoman Katie Pedretty, but it was still without power early Wednesday and many artists couldn't travel here because of airport and road delays, so they canceled all events.

"What fans don't realize is sometimes we may be okay in Clearwater but not okay in Fort Pierce or Orlando and that affects us," Pedretty said.

New dates will be announced soon for these events that had been scheduled:

Wednesday: Mutlu with Ella Jet at Ruth Eckerd Hall's Murray Theatre

Friday: Ruth Eckerd Hall's annual gala; the free screening of Dr. Strangelove at the Capitol Theatre

Saturday: Make America Rock Again with Creed's Scott Stapp at Ruth Eckerd Hall; Thunder from Down Under at the Capitol Theatre

Sunday: Sammy Hagar and the Circle at Coachman Park; Peppa Pig Live at Ruth Eckerd Hall.

Also, Ruth Eckerd's Marcia P. Hoffman School of the Arts has also canceled all classes and events through Sunday. While no damage was reported at either Ruth Eckerd Hall or the Capitol Theatre, both venues will be closed until at least Thursday.

Two previously postponed Capitol Theatre shows already have new dates: Steve Earle on Dec. 17 and Adam Ant on Jan. 31.

Other event changes announced Wednesday are:

St. Pete Art and Fashion Week: The event's VIP Opening Night Party was moved from Wednesday to Thursday at 7 p.m. at Raw Studios, 2338 Emerson Ave S St. Petersburg. $79. That prompted a change in start time for Thursday for Making of the Runway. Watch local artists create the 2017 fashion show runway during a live art presentation 4-6 p.m. at the Creative Courtyard, 2338 Emerson Ave. S. The trunk show Friday and fashion show Saturday will go on as planned. Get tickets at luxefashiongroup.com.

Asian Lantern Festival: Food truck rally with Asian lanterns adorning Albert Whitted Park in St. Petersburg has been moved to Nov. 3.

Clean Comedy: Friday's show at the Firehouse Cultural Center has been posponed.

Friday Fest: The free outdoor concert with Reverend Barry & Funktastic Soul scheduled for Friday at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in Sarasota has been canceled.

Previously announced cancellations include:

Marlon Wayans: The comedian's show Saturday at the Mahaffey Theater has been postponed. A new date has not been announced.

Damian "Jr. Gong" Marley: His Wednesday show at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg has been postponed. Refunds are available at point of purchase, but tickets will still be good when a new date is announced.

Two-Headed Calf Fest: This celebration of weirdness at St. Petersburg's Museum of History will be postponed again, this time because many of the circus performers slated to be there are stuck in Sarasota dealing with hurricane debris. The museum says it is looking for a date in October to try again and will announce a new date later this week. Check spmoh.com for updates.

Lydia Loveless: The rising alt-country star's show Thursday at Ringside Cafe in St. Petersburg has been postponed to an as-yet undetermined date. Check f acebook.com/ClubDetroitSt.Pete. "We're super sorry and are going to use the time to work on new material and figure out how to help those affected by the storm," she wrote on Facebook. "We will be back around to make it up to you and we're thinking of you all."

Ybor shows: These shows in Ybor have been canceled: Jason Richardson today and the Demi Nova Experience Part 2 on Friday.

Disgraced: The Heather Theatre has canceled its Friday and Saturday performances. The 3 p.m. Sunday show will go on as scheduled. Two 3 p.m. Sunday matinees have now been added, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1.

Flying: Tampa Repertory Theatre will not open its show this weekend. Instead the show will open at 8 p.m. Sept. 20 , with a preview at 8 p.m. Sept. 19 .

The Marvelous Wondrettes: Stageworks Theatre has moved the opening date from Sept. 22 to Sept. 29 and will now run through Oct. 15.

White Fang: Freefall Theatre is assessing its Sept. 30 opening of White Fang following the storm, which caused minor structural damage and disrupted rehearsal schedules. The theater expects to have a verdict soon.

Times staff writers Jay Cridlin and Andrew Meacham contributed to this report.
