On your radar: 'The Piano Lesson' in St. Pete, the NFL's Herm Edwards in Tampa

The Piano Lesson preview performance: American Stage presents August Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, the sixth in the playwright's Century Cycle. After arriving in Pittsburgh from the South, Boy Willie decides to sell an old piano that has been in his family for generations for some quick cash. Preview performances are today and Thursday at 8 p.m. at American Stage in St. Petersburg. $29; $20 student advance, $10 student rush. (727) 823-7529.

Hot Water Music: The Floridian punk favorites play their first headlining tour in eight years to support Exister, their first full-length album in as many years. La Dispute and the Menzingers also perform starting at 7 p.m. at the Orpheum, 1915 E Seventh Ave., Ybor City. $20. (813) 248-9500.

USF Lecture Series: Herm Edwards: The ESPN analyst and former NFL coach talks about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. as part of the USF Lecture Series. It's at 8 p.m. in the University of South Florida Marshall Student Center, 4202 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. Free.(813) 974-3180.
