Prepare to be scared: Pasco County Parks and Recreation has partnered with local businesses to transform the cabin area of Starkey Park into a haunted village featuring eight haunted houses, two haunted trails and a graveyard. Scream Acres is open 6:30-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Jay B. Starkey Wilderness Park, 10500 Wilderness Park Road, New Port Richey. Guests of all ages are invited, but children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult and the event is not recommended for small children. Admission is $1 per person. Ride that Halloween train: Halloween train rides are planned for 7-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Crews Lake Wilderness Park, 16739 Crews Lake Drive, Spring Hill. Be prepared to be scared by goblins, spooks and tricks in total darkness as the train takes you through the woods. Marshmallow roasts and ghosts: A Halloween Haunted House and Fall Festival is 7-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Hernando Heritage Museum, 601 Museum Court, Brooksville. Includes a bonfire with marshmallow roasting and ghost stories, a palm reader and tours of the three-story haunted house. Free outdoor games include candy; children should bring trick-or-treat baskets. A children's maze for ages 2 and older is $1.
