practice tai chi: CARES is offering Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance, a 12-week program consisting of gentle and easy Tai Chi movements that have been specially designed to help older adults reduce the risk of falling. It can be done seated or standing and requires only the desire to improve strength and balance. The classes will run through May 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesdays and Fridays, at Asbury United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 4204 Thys Road, New Port Richey. help for mothers: Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) presents its 14th annual Baby Share from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 12 at Victorious Life Church, 6224 Old Pasco Road, Wesley Chapel. This free event reaches out to mothers in the Tampa Bay community who are in need, pregnant, or who have a baby up to 6 months old. These women can receive baby items, such as cribs, strollers, high chairs, towels, washcloths, clothing, diapers and toys. MOPS also provides lunch with a speaker. Pre-registration for this event must be completed by March 7. Donations will be accepted until March 11, and can be dropped off at Victorious Life Church. For those interested in attending or volunteering, call (813) 973-2230.
