Music for Florida Hospital: "A Night of Music with Dr. Longley" will be from 8 to 10 p.m. Sept. 27 at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St. Longley is medical director of the Florida Hospital Wesley Chapel emergency room and winner of the 2013 "Doctor Idol" contest. 'Around the World in 30 Days': See bustling cities, serene beaches and other land, sea and air scenes from across the globe depicted in art on display through Sept. 27 at the Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd. In separate exhibits at the gallery, see the work of artists Audrey Costa and Lisa Miner in a show called "A Room with Two Views," which features multimedia 3-D art, plus artwork by students from the Red Apple Adult Training Center. Submit your art: The Pasco Arts Council (PAC) has issued a final call for artists to submit work to the Pasco Annual Art Exhibition. The judged competition is open to both professional and amateur artists, ages 18 and up. Each artist may submit one entry in one of the following six categories: drawing, fine craft (clay, fiber, glass, metal, wood, etc.), mixed media, painting (including pastels), photography or sculpture. All art must be original (the concept, composition or design must be unique to the artist submitting the work), and the artist must have directly created the work in the designated medium. All art must have been completed within the past two years and cannot have been exhibited previously at PAC. Entries cannot exceed 48 inches in any dimension (including frames and attached bases). Two-dimensional work must be framed or museum-wrapped and equipped with a secure hanging wire; no saw-tooth hangers are allowed. Three-dimensional work must be self-supporting. The entry fee is $20 for artists with current membership to the PAC or $30 for nonmembers. New and renewing memberships can be purchased at the time of entry for $40 for individuals or $60 for family memberships. East Pasco artists may drop off their art between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Edwinola Retirement Center, 14235 Edwinola Way, Dade City. West Pasco artists may drop off their art between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Sept. 30 through Oct. 2 or from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. October 3 and 4 at the PAC's Art Center, 5744 Moog Road, Holiday. A play the kids can enjoy: Tarpon Springs Cultural Treasures presents Alice in Wonderland at 2 p.m. Saturday and Sept. 27 at the Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 101 S Pinellas Ave., Tarpon Springs. In this version of Lewis Carroll's story, Alice is cautioned by the White Rabbit to take care of the Queen's tarts, which are to be served at a croquet match. While Alice's back is turned, the tarts are stolen. Alice, who knows the White Rabbit will lose his head if the tarts are not discovered in time, goes in search of the thief.
