Literary evening: Local author Jeff Cannon speaks at this month's Evening With the Author at 6:30 tonight at the Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., New Port Richey. Not for retirees only: The musical Ain't Retirement Grand is on stage at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through Nov. 16 at Jimmy Ferraro's Studio Theatre, 5732 Main St., New Port Richey. It's billed as being for retirees, those about to retire, and "anyone who wants a fun time at the theater." The four-member cast sings about early bird specials, driving, wills, doctors, HMOs, pets and exercise. Doors open 30 minutes before the show. Tickets are $25, including tax. Call (727) 409-0293.

Go with the flow: The Downtown New Port Richey Art Gallery's October exhibition is called "Water: The Essence of Life" and is on display through Nov. 1 at the gallery, 6231 Grand Blvd., downtown New Port Richey. Features original paintings, mixed media, photography and prints, sculpture and 3-dimensional works. Work by award-winning local artists, Joan Annicchiarico and Louise Celli, is featured in an exhibition titled "Two Points of View." Art by students from Saint Leo University is also on display. Happy together: "Coexistence: The Art of Living Together" is an art exhibit on display through Oct. 31 at Pasco-Hernando State College's Rao Musunuru, M.D. Art Gallery, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. The partial exhibit, originally an international competition hosted by the Museum on the Seam in Jerusalem, features work by international artists that calls for social change through visual reflections on intolerance and the meaning of coexistence. Open house at the bottling plant: Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Zephyrhills Water at an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Zephyrhills water plant, 4330 20th St. Enjoy games, bounce houses, activities, giveaways, music and free food. Visit the kid-friendly, educational WaterVentures truck and take a tour of the bottling facility.
