Plan your weekend

The king

Elvis: Live in Concert: This year marks the 40th anniversary of Elvis Presley's death, and Ruth Eckerd Hall will have a Graceland-produced Elvis concert on a movie screen, accompanied by a full live orchestra. Graceland calls it the closest audiences will ever get to seeing the King in concert. 8 p.m. Friday. $53.25 and up. rutheckerdhall.com.

PRISCILLA TALKS: Forty years after Elvis Presley's death, Priscilla Presley talks his legacy, new orchestra tour

Music

Jason Aldean: The country star whose songs sizzle (Dirt Road Anthem, Burnin' It Down, Any Ol' Barstool) is a three-time Male Vocalist of the Year champ. His show at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre, 4202 U.S. 301 N, is loaded with hunky country lunks, including Chris Young (I'm Comin' Over, Think of You), 23-year-old social media superstar Kane Brown (What Ifs) and country DJ Dee Jay Silver. $65.50 and up. Take the kids

Monster Jam Triple Threat: The first arena-style Monster Jam event brings truckloads of dirt to Amalie Arena on Saturday. It challenges each competitor to drive three customized high-powered vehicles: Speedsters, ATVs and the famous Monster Jam trucks including Grave Digger, El Toro Loco and Blue Thunder. Come early for the Pit Party ($15, some free passes available at local Ford dealers) to meet the drivers and get pictures with the trucks. Shows are at 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday at 401 Channelside Drive, Tampa. $15-$80. monsterjam.com.

Film

Sing-Along Grease: One of the highlights of Tampa Theatre's summerlong series of classic movies is this week's Sing-Along Grease. So go channel your inner Sandy or Danny and belt out the tunes from the 1978 hit. It screens at 3 p.m. Sunday. 711 Franklin St., Tampa. $10, $7 members. (813) 274-8982. tampatheatre.org.

Date night

Silent Disco: The Tampa Museum of Art is bringing back one if its most popular, if odd, parties — a Silent Disco where dancers in wireless headphones DJ their own personal soundtrack. To observers, it will be silent dance floor with partygoers grooving to their own tunes on Saturday from 8 to 11 p.m. $25 in advance, $30 at the door. 120 Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa. tampamuseum.org.

Sweet

Great St. Pete Cupcake Contest: It's the Morean Arts Center's 100th birthday, so registration for the Great St. Pete Cupcake Contest was opened to 100 contestants, the most in the celebration's seven-year history. Tasters, who pay $5 and get five ballots toward the People's Choice award, are in for a treat. Creativity is abundant since cupcakes will be judged on frosting, flavor and presentation. The contest opens at noon Saturday at 420 22nd St. S, St. Petersburg. (727) 822-7872. moreanartscenter.org.

Football

Bucs Training Camp: Have you gotten hooked on HBO's Hard Knocks featuring the Tampa Bay Buccaneers? You can see the HBO crew working about as hard as the players at practices free for spectators. There are also concessions, merchandise tents and autographs from players after each practice. Practice is 8:45-10:55 a.m. at One Buc Place in Tampa on Sunday. There's also three more the following week before the first home preseason game against the Browns on Aug. 26.
