Rod Stewart and Cyndi Lauper: Two of music's most acclaimed artists and powerhouse live performers arrive at Tampa's Amalie Arena on Saturday when Grammy Award-winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Rod Stewart is joined by Tony winner Cyndi Lauper. Shark Con: Far inland, this weekend's Shark Con at the Florida State Fairgrounds is all about sharks, with a touch tank, shark tooth dig pit, a paddle board clinic, an ocean bounce house, a scuba pool, shark ride, mermaids, marine rescue exhibits, STEM projects and even a shark dissection. Sharknado: As part of Shark Con, director Anthony C. Ferrante hosts a screening of the gloriously schlocky Sharknado at 10 p.m. Friday, Tampa Theatre, 711 N Franklin St. $7. tampatheatre.org. Ferrante is also a guest speaker at 1:15 p.m. Saturday at Shark Con.

Rock

Tampa Bay Etsy Craft Party: This free community event brings artists, makers and vintage sellers together for a day of craft appreciation. Welcome to Night Vale: This podcast has often been called a geeky cultural gem, and this Saturday brings its live show to the Tampa Theatre with narrator Cecil Baldwin and musical guest Eliza Rickman. They will bring to life an evening of "incredible, spooky, funny and monumentally charming" news from the small desert town of Night Vale. Tickets are $27.50-$32.50.
