Play Tampa Bay: Mother's Day and lots of live music

Michelle and Katie class it up this week with a visit to the Vinoy resort on the downtown St. Petersburg waterfront. The weekend's big events revolve around Mother's Day on Sunday — you didn't forget, did you? Plus, you have lots of opportunities to hear live music. Events

American Stage in the Park: 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee: Runs through the end of May at Demens Landing in St. Petersburg. Tickets range from $13-$20 for blanket seating on the grass. Never been to an American Stage in the Park show? Here are some of our tips.

Florida Orchestra: Pops in the Park: The free concert is Sunday at River Tower Park in Tampa.

Deals

Moms get in free to the Florida Aquarium and Lowry Park Zoo.

Live music

Tropical Heatwave: Runs Friday-Saturday all over Ybor City. Tickets range from $20-$50.

Tim McGraw: He's here Saturday at the Live Nation Amphitheatre. Tickets start at $48.

Gary Sinise: He performs Friday at Curtis Hixon Park in Tampa. $35.
