Play Tampa Bay previews IPA Festival, classic movie series

Dunedin Brewery IPA Festival: More than 35 IPAs will be on draft at the fest starting at 7 p.m. at Dunedin Brewery. Tickets are $35-$45.

David Alan Grier: He's been on Broadway and the big screen, but check out his standup chops at the Improv in Tampa this weekend. $20-$22.

Seven Homeless Mammoths Wander New England: The new American Stage comedy opens Friday and runs through June 30. $29-$59.

Summer Classic Movie Series: Tampa Theatre is showing classic movies all summer long starting this weekend. Tickets are $9.

Cody Simpson: The Australian teen pop star is performing at the Straz Center on Friday. Tickets start at $39.50.

    Chalk up one more closure to Hurricane Irma: The huge Dia de los Muertos Fiesta originally planned for Saturday in Dunedin has been scrapped for what would have been its 25th year.

    At last year’s Dia de los Muertos, Casa Tina owner Tina Marie Avila (crouching) shows her “Ofrenda,” or Day of the Dead alter. What would have been the 25th annual Dia de los Muertos Fiesta on Saturday had to be canceled this year because of Hurricane Irma. The folk festival will be back next year.
