The funky inverted pyramid has been a part of St. Petersburg's waterfront since 1973, so no one could let its final days tick off without a party. The festivities begin at noon Saturday with local artists, live music, water ski shows, bagpipes and children's activities. Then the real fun begins at 6 p.m., with sunset toasts and the Ultimate Pier Cocktail competition, in which Cha Cha Coconuts, Fresco's and Jonny Reno's will whip up fabulous cocktails. The winner will be determined by popular vote as well as by celebrity judges, including radio personality Nancy Alexander. The party is free, but $10 VIP tickets include extra goodies: a poster of the Pier, cocktail samples, cake and a commemorative glass. (727) 637-5586.
