Rays Manager Joe Maddon and Rays players will shave their heads March 15 before the Rays-Phillies game at 1:05 p.m. in Port Charlotte to support children fighting cancer. Text "Cut" to 50555 to make a $10 donation or visit www.pcfcutforacure.org. Fans will be able to shave their heads with the Rays and receive a "Fortune Favors the Bald" T-shirt for a $100 donation.
"We hope to make this a Rays tradition every spring," Maddon said in a press release. "Our first shaving last year was an overwhelming success. More than 70 of our players, coaches and staff including our principal owner Stuart Sternberg shaved their heads. We hope for more of the same this year."
