Tampa Bay Design Week wraps up this weekend with these events

TAMPA — It's the final weekend of Tampa Bay Design Week, which began with a lecture from a Cuban historian on Oct. 9 and will conclude with a pop-up design festival on Saturday.

The annual event, sponsored by the Tampa Downtown Partnership and local businesses, aims to expose the public to the ways good design improves communities. There's still quite a few events left in the week — with prices ranging from free to $20. For more information, visit tampabaydesignweek.com.

Events include:

Urban Bike Tour: Join a bike tour to review some of Tampa's greatest design supporting restaurants. $20. Irish 31, 1611 W Swann Ave., Tampa. (813) 250-0031. 5:45-9:20 p.m. today.

Architect Rob Rogers: Rogers' firm was recently selected as the winning team for their design of the new St. Pete Pier. Take a look at the body of work and here about other non-Pier specific work. $5. Sunken Gardens, 1825 Fourth St. N, St. Petersburg. (727) 551-3102. 7 p.m. today.

Local Motion Architectural Assets Tour: Wear comfortable shoes for a guided walking tour of downtown Tampa's Architectural Assets. Free. Joe Chillura Courthouse Square, Kennedy Boulevard and Morgan Street, Tampa. 11:50 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday.

Tampa Riverwalk Arts Tour: The evening walking tour features Lights On Tampa and public art along the Riverwalk and around the Waterfront District. Free. Sono Cafe at Tampa Museum of Art, 120 Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa. (813) 274-8130. 6:30-8:45 p.m. Friday.
