Things to do in Tampa Bay for April 16

The Place Beyond the Pines: Tampa Theatre is showing this new movie starring Ryan Gosling, Eva Mendes and Bradley Cooper. It's director Derek Cianfrance's follow-up to 2010's Blue Valentine. It starts at 7:30 p.m. at 711 Franklin St. in Tampa. $10.

All Time Low: The punk pop foursome from Towson, Md., took its name from lyrics in the New Found Glory song Head on Collision. Pierce the Veil, Mayday Parade and You Me at Six also perform, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg. $22. (727) 565-0551.

Night Hike: Get a close look at some of the creepy crawlies that come out after dusk on this guided hike. It begins at 7:30 p.m. at Boyd Hill Nature Preserve, 1101 Country Club Way S, St. Petersburg. $3, $1.50 children (reservations required). (727) 893-7326.
