Things to do in Tampa Bay for Feb. 23

Muse: The British rock trio behind hits like Supermassive Black Hole and Time is Running Out play their first headlining show in Tampa. The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. at the Tampa Bay Times Forum in Tampa. $32.25-$62.25. (813) 301-2500.

Gasparilla Distance Classic: One of Tampa's best known road races holds the 5K and 15K today. The route takes runners along an out-and-back course from downtown Tampa, out just across Gandy Boulevard and back again. Registration starts at 5:30 a.m before the 6:45 a.m. race in downtown Tampa at the intersection of Twiggs and Tampa streets. $25-$45.

Daughtry and 3 Doors Down: Chris Daughtry's multi-platinum band teams up with the Mississippi rock quintet at 8 p.m. at Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater. $52.50-$79.50. (727) 791-7400.

Bay Area Renaissance Festival: The festival opens this weekend with "Wine, Chocolate and Romance" featuring a chocolate festival, free wine tasting, cupcake wars and chocolate pie eating contest. It starts at 10 a.m. at MOSI, 4801 E Fowler Ave., Tampa. $18.95, $14.95 seniors, $10.95 ages 5-12. Toll-free 1-800-601-4848.

Fiesta Day: The annual street festival celebrates the heritage of the Latin immigrants who settled in Ybor City. Dance in the streets to Latin music, sample ethnic cuisine and shop for gifts starting at 11 a.m. at the Italian Club, 1731 E Seventh Ave., Tampa. Free admission. (813) 241-8838.

Flashdance: The musical version of the 1983 film about a Pittsburgh woman who dreams of being a professional dancer is at 2 and 8 p.m. at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. $44.50-$79.50.
