Things to do in Tampa Bay for May 2

Rock the Park: This month's concert celebrates the tbt* Ultimate Bands of 2013. Local acts including Applebutter Express, Heights NS and Wolf-Face will be performing. Music starts at 6:30 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Park, 600 N Ashley Drive, Tampa. Free.

Behind the Gates: When 17-year-old Bethany disappears while on a school trip to Israel, her parents feverishly search for her throughout Jerusalem in this Jobsite Theater production. The show begins at 8 p.m. in the Shimberg Playhouse at the Straz Center, 1010 N MacInnes Place, Tampa. Tickets start at $28; preview performances $10. (813) 229-7827.

Music and Movies in the Park: Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom: Bring a picnic and enjoy music by Between the Bluffs before a free screening of the Oscar-winning classic. It starts at 7 p.m. in North Straub Park, Fifth Avenue NE and Bayshore Drive, St. Petersburg. Free. (727) 824-7802.

Janis Ian: The Grammy-winning '60s folk songwriter and science-fiction author known for her song At Seventeen plays at 8 p.m. at the Carrollwood Cultural Center, 4537 Lowell Road, Tampa. $29. (813) 269-1310.

Of Mice and Men: John Steinbeck's classic story of friendship, loyalty and the American dream is adapted for the stage. Curtain is at 8 p.m. at Stageworks Theatre, 1120 E Kennedy Blvd., Tampa. $26, $22 seniors, $10 students. (727) 488-4322.

SEASON FINALE Parks and Recreation, 9:30 p.m., NBC Andy and April receive some surprising news. And what is it? C'mon, people. It's a season finale. Use your imagination.

SEASON FINALE Wife Swap, 8 p.m., ABC A pagan woman who practices witchcraft trades places with a tap dancer, in an episode apparently programmed by Mad Libs.

    TAMPA — A new company debuts with Proof, David Auburn's Pulitzer-winning play. Innovocative Theatre, founded by Dunedin native Staci Sabarsky, is currently running productions out of Stageworks Theatre space. Sabarsky also directs and performs in the show.
