Lil Wayne will be performing Saturday in Tampa.

Lil Wayne: The rapper has won four Grammys and sold millions of albums. But he's also a "Martian" — his word, not ours — and it's his unusual behavior that's drawing a lot of attention. His show is 7 p.m. Saturday at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa. $25-$89.75. (813) 740-2446.

Rays on the Runway: Players, such as Sam Fuld and Evan Longoria, trade uniforms for the latest fashions to sashay down the runway, along with coaches, wives/girlfriends and special "dream children" for the eighth annual event at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the Renaissance Vinoy Resort in St. Petersburg. Also includes cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, all to benefit the Children's Dream Fund. $125, $75 age 17 and younger. (727) 894-1000.

Rays concerts: KC and the Sunshine Band performs Saturday after the Tampa Bay Rays take on the Houston Astros. On Sunday, the concert is Carly Rae Jepsen (Call Me Maybe) and the giveaway is a free DJ Kitty confetti globe for the kids. Both included with game ticket at Tropicana Field; toll-free 1-888-326-7297.

New on stage: Jobsite Theater puts on The Lonesome West, about two brothers who slide into violent disputes over the most mundane things. Comedy: Gossipy Kathy Griffin returns to Ruth Eckerd Hall in Clearwater on Saturday; $52.50-$100; (727) 791-7400. At the Improv in Tampa, it's the dude-centric humor of Pauly Shore Friday through Sunday; $22; (813) 864-4000. And at Side Splitters in Carrollwood, it's Jamie Kennedy, who did a whole documentary, Heckler, on confronting his haters; Thursday through Saturday; $20-$27; (813) 960-1197.

  1. Bar review: Les Partners Lounge goes old-school in Clearwater

    Bars & Spirits

There are some local places that I'm shocked aren't more well known, and I think that's the result of a general aversion to stepping out of one's comfort zone. I make regular concerted efforts to step outside of mine, which often leads me to strange and rewarding drinking establishments.

Les Partners Lounge is an old-school, smoker-friendly cocktail lounge and live music venue tucked away in a nondescript shopping plaza in Island Estates.
  2. Local craft beer of the week: Plongeur a L'eponge, Saint Somewhere Brewing Co.

    Bars & Spirits

Tarpon Springs' Saint Somewhere Brewing Co. has a somewhat idiosyncratic approach to wild ale brewing, utilizing an open brewing approach involving uncovered fermenters in order to brew beer with local ambient microbes, reminiscent in some ways to the fermentation techniques used by rustic farmhouse breweries in Belgium …
