Top things to do in Tampa Bay for Dec. 18

Victorian Christmas at the Safford House: Enjoy refreshments and live performances as you take a stroll through the 1883 Safford House decked out in Victorian era holiday decorations. 11 a.m., Safford House Museum, 23 Parkin Circuit, Tarpon Springs. $14, $12 members/students, $6 children through 6th grade. Coca-Cola Holiday Caravan: The caravan, Illuminated by more than 30,000 red and white sparkling lights, will carry Santa and a few friends to spread holiday happiness. Activities include free photos with Santa, a chance to meet the Coca-Cola polar bear and complimentary soda with a holiday sweater koozie. Bring a new, unwrapped toy for donation. 1 p.m., Walmart, 11110 Causeway Blvd., Brandon. Free. (813) 327-7279.

Drive-In Movie: The park opens at 5 p.m. with music and trivia. Tune in to your car radio to listen to a screening of The Polar Express, which begins at dark. Register early; tickets are limited. 5 p.m., Highlander Park, 1920 Pinehurst Road, Dunedin. $10 car load. (727) 812-4530.

Holiday Sizzle at Sundial: Ben Winkler Trio: A series of entertainment for shoppers to enjoy through out the holiday season. The jazz trio features female vocalist Sasha Tuck. 6 p.m., Sundial St. Pete, 151 Second Ave. N, St. Petersburg. Free. (727) 800-3201.

CANCELED: Holiday Evening Under the Stars with the Florida Orchestra: Featuring traditional and pop instrumentals by The Florida Orchestra. The evening will include Santa and Mrs. Claus, a toy drive, food trucks and a hot chocolate station. 7 p.m., Madeira Beach Recreation Center Bandshell, 200 Rex Place, Madeira Beach. $20 adults, $10 kids. (727) 892-3337. Update: Friday's concert has been canceled due to weather. Full refunds will be issued through the city's online ticketing system. Saturday's outside concert at Sundial is still scheduled, weather permitting.

 Holiday Classic Movie Series: It's a Wonderful Life: During the months of November and December, enjoy select holiday classics with a sing-along to holiday carols by the Mighty Wurlitzer Theatre Organ before each show. The week before Christmas features eight screenings of the comedy/drama starring James Stewart. 7:30 p.m., Tampa Theatre, 711 Franklin St., Tampa. $10, $8 members/children. (813) 274-8982.

 

Chris Duarte Group : A blues guitarist with a style that draws on jazz, blues and rock 'n' roll. Tampa guitarist and vocalist, Heather Gillis opens. 8 p.m., Skipper's Smokehouse, 910 Skipper Road, Tampa. $15. (813) 971-0666.

The 39 Steps: Based on the book by Patrick Barlow and movie by Alfred Hitchcock, four actors play 150 characters in this murder mystery mixed with comedy. Outlaws: Formed in Tampa in 1972, the group known as "The Florida Guitar Army" hammer out triple guitar rock and three part country harmonies.
