Beyonce: Time to get in Formation as Queen Bey takes the stage Friday at Tampa's Raymond James Stadium. For her first appearance in the area since 2007, we're on Bey watch this week on our music blog at tampabay.com/soundcheck. ($40-$275).

RiverFest: The 1.8-mile Riverwalk in Tampa will be dotted with kid's play zones, pet-friendly activities, dragon boat races, a giant cardboard city for kids to play in outside the Straz Center, music and food, including the Mayor's Mac and Cheese Throwdown on Saturday and the Riverwalk Brunch Festival on Sunday. Tampa's first-ever Balloon Glow will have a multitude of hot air balloons lighting up the Riverwalk on Saturday night. tampariverfest.com.

Date night

Music: It's lineup madness this weekend, starting with 98 Rockfest on Friday at the Amalie Arena, including chart-topping metal group Disturbed. Tickets start at $29, and VIP $175 and up. Tropical Heatwave returns to Ybor City on Saturday with a lineup that includes indie-rockers Ra Ra Riot, R&B vocalist Nikki Hill and alt-folk singer Geri X, ($35). tropicalheatwave.org. Sunday, it's the Fun 'n Sun: Fun 'n Country free concert at Clearwater's Coachman Park, featuring Craig Morgan, Brothers Osborne and Cassadee Pope. Thursday brings Nashville in Concert to Ruth Eckerd Hall for ($43.25-$78.75). On Sunday, Orange is the New Black star Ruby Rose DJs at Beach Bar on the Tampa Causeway ($25).

Beautiful — The Carole King Musical: The Tony Award-winning show opens Tuesday at the Straz Center with her most memorable songs. ($55-$135).

Sunscreen Film Festival: Four days of independent films at the Palladium Theater opens Thursday. $8 one screening; $50 per day. s unscreenfilmfestival.com.

Sea Grapes Wine and Food Festival: The benefit for the Florida Aquarium on Saturday is set in the aquarium's exhibits with more than 150 wines, food from more than 25 area restaurants, live entertainment and silent auctions ($85-$105).

Kids and family

Fashion Funds the Cure: This benefit for pediatric cancer at the Tampa International Jet Center on Saturday features kids battling cancer making their debut on the runway ($150).
