Cinco De Mayo Street: Dunedin's Casa Tina hosts a street festival and dance party on Main Street on Thursday with a "favorite Latin character" costume contest, salsa dancing and lessons, a giant parade of 20-foot-tall puppets and a dance party with live music. casa or (727) 734-9226.

Kentucky Derby: It's all about the mint juleps and outrageous hats Saturday. Bet during Tampa Bay Downs' celebration with live races and a simulcast of the Kentucky Derby ($2-$3),, or St. Pete's Derby Lane with every TV in the place tuned to Churchill Downs. Free.

Date Night

Music: This week is jam-packed, with flamenco-Latin-pop fusioners Gipsy Kings today at St. Pete's Mahaffey Theater ($55.50-$92.50), the same night that rock band Evanescence plays in Clearwater at Ruth Eckerd Hall ($48.75-$128.75). Wednesday, hip-hop group Cypress Hill celebrates 25 very stony years together at Jannus Live in St. Petersburg ($25-$28). Christian Grammy winner Amy Grant comes to Ruth Eckerd Hall on Thursday, bringing Nichole Nordeman and Ellie Holcomb to perform with her ($29-$65). The Florida Orchestra celebrates the music of the Police as part of its rock series Friday at the Mahaffey ($35-$65). Fiesta Maxima returns to the USF Sun Dome in Tampa on Sunday with headliner Carlos Vives ($27.75-$201.75), while mixtape king Young Thug closes the week out the same day at the Ritz Ybor ($29.50-$75).

Star Wars Day: You'll hear, "May the Fourth be with you," from your nerd friends on Wednesday, and you can celebrate that night at a free party at Red Star Rock Bar in Seminole Heights with screenings of the Star Wars films, a costume contest, food trucks and drink specials.

WaZoo BeerFest: The tasting party Saturday at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo features more than 250 beers and beverages, pub fare and restaurant samplings, "animal ambassadors," outdoor games and live music ($45-$125).
