Big Tim's Bar-B-Que in St. Petersburg closes

It looks like the end for the fabled 22-ingredient sauce. Big Tim's Bar-B-Que in St. Petersburg has closed. Timothy "Big Tim" Walters opened his first location in 1968 on 34th Street S, following up with two more restaurants on 34th, another in Tampa and another across from Tropicana Field. All but the one at 530 34th St. S closed prior to Walters' death in 2009. His family carried on after his death, selling the pulled pork sandwiches and molasses-touched barbecue sauce for which he'd become famous in Pinellas County. There is no word yet on what will become of the restaurant space.
