Aside from schmearing on a bagel or English muffin, apricot spread can be a handy addition to any pantry, especially over the holidays. It's a delicious base on a fruited Brie before baking and perfect in tarts or apricot bars. Our judges also have added the spread to oatmeal, yogurt and ice cream desserts. We sampled nine brands of jarred apricot preserves with great success. A couple have inspired us to try some new recipes using apricot jam with pork chops and chicken breasts.
