Taste Test

Taste test: Non-dairy yogurts

My daughter's college roommate is vegan, meaning she doesn't eat or use any animal products. So when we visit my daughter in California, we make it a point to find foods and eateries her roommate can enjoy with us. Sometimes it's not easy, even in a vegan-friendly state like California. This week, I searched locally for some of the same foods. The variety of vegan products can be limited in grocery stores that carry them, but one exception is yogurt. We found nine brands of nondairy yogurt and asked our tasters to give them a try. While none of our panelists are vegans or vegetarians, they managed to find a few vanilla-flavored, nondairy yogurts they really enjoyed.
