Many of us have a love-hate relationship with cottage cheese. But adding the fluffy curds to a number of recipes can cut calories without sacrificing taste. It can be a welcome treat for those trying to burn off holiday calories. The curds from cottage cheese can replace ricotta cheese in lasagna recipes, add texture to a cheesecake or fill blintzes with fruit topping, among other things. Our judges sampled 10 brands of low-fat cottage cheese, containing a range of 1-percent to 4-percent milk fat.
