The Mahaffey Theater has announced a lineup of four family shows for 2014, acts that will be bringing house cats, dinosaurs, escapologists, jugglers, clowns and a smart kid to the St. Petersburg theater.

• The Popovich Comedy Pet Theater featuring Gregory and his cast of jugglers, clowns, 15 house cats, 10 dogs, eight white doves, four geese and two parrots will come to St. Petersburg Jan. 26 for a 2 p.m. performance. Tickets are $22.50-$42.50. Gregory, who became of member of the renowned Moscow Circus when he was 17, was a finalist on NBC's America's Got Talent. The show is an "extravaganza of European-style clowning, balancing acts and, of course, very talented performing pets," a Mahaffey news release says.

Dinosaur Train-Live! brings the stars of the hit PBS series to the Mahaffey stage for the first time on Feb. 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22.50-$42.50. The whole family can join Buddy, Tiny, King, Don and more in this fun-filled, interactive and immersive live trip back in time to an age when dinosaurs roamed the Earth — and rode on trains in Buddy's Big Adventure!

• Masters of Illusion Live! brings a magic show that includes grand illusions, dancers, exotic animals and quick-change artists on Feb. 23 at 7 p.m. Tickets for this show of escapologists and comedy magic are $22-$52.

• Sid the Science Kid comes to St. Pete for a live show May 18 at 2 p.m. Based on the television show produced by the Jim Henson Co., the inquisitive youngster uses comedy to tackle basic science principles and explain why things work the way they do. Tickets for Sid the Science Kid-Live! are $22.50-$42.50.

Tickets for all shows go on sale Friday at noon. Ticket buyers who purchase two or more of the family shows at the same time can save 10 percent.
