New Busch Gardens -themed play area opens at International Plaza

Call it a mini theme park, with an especially compelling entry fee: free.

Busch Gardens has opened a new play area at International Plaza in Tampa, complete with animal characters, a train and a 14-foot-tall Cheetah Hunt tower.

The free play area replaces the Tampa Bay Rays Looney Tunes Ball Park on the first level.

The area is described as offering a multisensory experience that highlights elements found at the theme park, including fabricated hippos, a baby elephant, baby lions, an alligator and a safari truck that kids can climb on. The area will also have a 70-inch TV showing footage of Busch Gardens.

Busch Gardens also sponsored the play area at Westfield Brandon mall.
