What's up with Ben Affleck's movie project Live by Night, adapted from Dennis Lehane's crime novel largely set around Ybor City? Affleck scouted locations in May, but there has been no word on whether the actor/director/screenwriter will film the movie here. On Monday, Dale Gordon was introduced as the new executive director of the Tampa Hillsborough Film and Digital Media Commission after a three-year void in that position, and didn't have an answer. Gordon deferred to commission chairman Rick Homans, who said the project is still "on the front burner." Homans added: "We're not going to talk too much publicly about details because it doesn't help us … to have it play out publicly like that. We're pulling out all the stops … to win the project here." Gordon, 37, is a University of South Florida graduate who formerly held a similar film and digital media position in Orlando.
