Here's the lineup for Tampa's Gasparilla International Film Festival

Well, it's Academy Awards time, so moviegoers know what that means:

Tampa's Suncoast Credit Union Gasparilla International Film Festival is right around the corner.

The 11th edition opens March 2, continuing for a week with 35 features and documentaries, plus more than 70 shorts, master classes with industry professionals, panel discussions and parties.

Gasparilla organizers announced this year's lineup Wednesday, including Jordan Roberts' Burn Your Maps in the prized opening night slot.

Burn Your Maps stars Oscar nominee Jacob Tremblay (Room) as a grieving child believing he's a Mongolian goat herder who must return home. Vera Farmiga and Virginia Madsen co-star. Opening night festivities are slated for Tampa Theatre; the remainder of the festival unspools at AMC Centro Ybor.

The festival's closing night slot goes to Unleashed, a comedy directed by Finn Taylor and starring Kate Micucci of Garfunkel and Oates fame, plus Sean Astin, who has previously visited the festival. No such celebrity attendees have been announced.

Other highlights in the feature film lineup include James Gray's The Lost City of Z starring Charlie Hunnam as British explorer Percy Fawcett; The Last Word, a comedy starring Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried; and Queen of the Desert, directed by Werner Herzog and starring Nicole Kidman as multi-hyphenate feminist Gertrude Bell.

A sidebar of Florida-produced works is included in the festival lineup led by Joe's Show Will Go On, a profile of Ybor City drag queen legend Joey Brooks directed by Marcus Kempton. Another entry with local ties is Turtle Tale, a fantasy set at Largo's McGough Nature Park.

Single screening tickets are $12. Festival passes of varying access are available from $27 for a Friday daily pass to $1,510 for VIP red carpet treatment for two throughout the festival. Get more information about the lineup and advance ticket sales at gasparillafilmfestival.com.
