India International Film Festival opens in Ybor on Friday

Take a break from Hollywood this weekend with some Bollywood at the fourth annual India International Film Festival, at Muvico Centro Ybor 20 in Ybor City. Opening night festivities begin Friday at 6:30 p.m. with a VIP reception, dinner and a screening of Avinash Kumar Singh's family drama Listen... Amaya. Singh and co-writer Geeta Singh will conduct a Q&A session after the show, followed by a party at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company. Tickets are $50. Saturday's schedule of eight screening sessions begins at 1 p.m. with Suzanne Bryant's documentary Yoga Is: A Transformational Journey. Bryant will lead a yoga demonstration Sunday in Centro Ybor's courtyard at 11 a.m. before seven more screening sessions, concluding at 8 p.m. with Musa Syeed's Valley of Saints. Tickets are $10 for single showings. A weekend festival pass ($75) allows entry to all screenings and on-site events. Single-day passes ($25) two-day passes ($40) are available.
