Richard Jenkins leads Sarasota Film Festival lineup

Veteran character actor Richard Jenkins was announced Wednesday as the star attraction of the 16th annual Sarasota Film Festival, running Apr. 4-13.

Jenkins, an Oscar nominee for 2008's The Visitor, will accompany his movie God's Pocket, featuring one of Philip Seymour Hoffman's final performances. Jenkins also will participate in a public conversation with New York magazine's film critic David Edelstein.

Game of Thrones star Jason Momoa will attend the festival for the world premiere of Road to Paloma, a blending of Smoke Signals and Easy Rider that he wrote and directed.

The Sarasota festival also welcomes Sister Rosemary of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus based in Juba, South Sudan. The festival documentary Sewing Hope traces her efforts rescuing girls abducted or abandoned in that war-torn nation.
