Tampa Bay Jewish Film Festival kicks off Thursday

Published March 20, 2014

It's officially called the Tampa Bay Jewish Film Festival, but it's really more of a caravan, spreading a dozen movies among nearly as many venues on both sides of the bay. Only one theater location — Villagio Cinemas in Carrollwood — is slated for use more than once, so checking dates, times and locations on the festival's website (tbjff.org) is highly recommended. The 18th annual festival begins tonight at Straz Center for the Performing Arts with a 7:30 p.m. screening of Bethlehem ($20 including a reception), and ends March 31 with The Attack at Eckerd College's Miller Auditorium ($8). A brunch March 30 at Maggiano's followed by The Zig Zag Kid at Westshore 16 ($36) is a new wrinkle in the schedule. Passes for access to all 12 festival screenings are $72.
