Alt-rock station 97X changed the game for this year's shindig. For one, they tweaked the name (dropping "Backyard"), but they've also introduced $20 tickets for those too lazy to score free ones at the station's numerous ticket drops. The best change is that for the first time in a while the event's lineup mostly features acts whose names have yet to appear at 97X concerts. Leading the way are a pair of U.K. exports — Bastille and the 1975 — whose respective hits Pompeii and Chocolate are the kind of carefree, electro-kissed anthems perfect for the unbeatable scenery of Vinoy Park. Kongos, a South African band of brothers, provide a touch of accordion rock on their breakout single Come With Me, and bands like Skaters and the Orwells make it one of the best 97X lineups ever. It kicks off at 11 a.m. Saturday at 701 Bayshore Drive NE, St. Petersburg. See 97Xonline.com for ticket drop times and locations, or $20 through Ticketmaster.
