LL Cool J, Public Enemy, Ice Cube headed to Mahaffey

Well, this sounds like the most awesome all-star concert of the summer.

LL Cool J has announced plans for a star-studded old-school hip-hop summer tour featuring Public Enemy, Ice Cube and De La Soul. So basically, your entire middle school record collection.

According to LL's Facebook page, the "Kings of the Mic Tour" will hit the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg on June 6. Tickets go onsale Friday, and they'll cost $49.50-$125.

LL is in a collaborative mood these days. You probably caught his Grammys-closing performance of new single Whaddup, featuring Public Enemy, Tom Morello and Travis Barker. His forthcoming album Authentic, due April 30, reportedly features collaborations with Eddie Van Halen, Kendrick Lamar, Jennifer Lopez and others. Now that's an all-star tour we'd pay big bucks to see.
