Rehearsals begin soon for Hernando, Pasco chorus groups

Nature Coast Festival Singers begin their Christmas rehearsal schedule from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd.

The 20-year-old classical chorus performs two Christmas concerts in December, as well as a portion of Handel's Messiah with other community singers. There are no auditions.

Fee applies for music and performance attire. All proceeds go to the Ayer Scholarhip Fund, which is awarded to a promising musical youth in the community.

Experienced singers are invited to join the PHCC Community Chorus program.

The chorus begins its third season under the direction of James Urbanski, who is also director of Thursday Musicale and the Nature Coast Festival Singers and conductor of the Dade City Symphony.

Rehearsals are 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays in Room H-107 of the Performing Arts Center building on west campus, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. Tuition is $29 for the fall semester and includes music.
