The Eagles tour coming to Tampa in November

They may be the butt of the joke in The Big Lebowski, but there's no denying the Eagles remain one of the most popular groups of all time. Their history is fractious, but their catalog is iconic — and with a new generation of artists like Dawes embracing a throwback California-rock vibe, they've become even more influential. If you need a refresher course on Eagles history, good news: The band is bringing their "History of the Eagles" tour to Tampa. Don Henley, Joe Walsh, Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmidt will play the Tampa Bay Times Forum on Nov. 20. According to an announcement from the Forum, the band "will perform classics spanning their career, including some that have never been performed live." Tickets are $49-$177, and they'll go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. June 29. — Jay Cridlin, Times staff writer

Chopping fresh figs and folding them into cake batter is not something you usually see, but that’s exactly what happens in this recipe for fig cake.
