Whitney James and the Helios Jazz Orchestra open St. Petersburg Jazz Festival

Vocalist Whitney James and the Helios Jazz Orchestra open this year's St. Petersburg Jazz Festival at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Nova 535, which is at 535 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. N, St. Petersburg. $15. There are four more concerts, including a Coltrane/Cannonball tribute, O Som Do Jazz, Paul Krueger Quartet and Marty Morrell Group, in the festival, which runs through Feb. 23. (727) 341-7984;
