Those feeling a nostalgic twinge for the days when bell bottoms, Afros and polyester were all the rage, and cassettes were a thing of the future, might want to hustle over to the Show Palace Dinner Theatre to catch 8-Track: The Sounds of the '70s, which opens Saturday.

The show, conceived by Rick Seeber, features a small ensemble revolving through an "oldies" playlist, with songs from the Carpenters, Barry Manilow, Marvin Gaye, the Doobie Brothers, the Bee Gees, Helen Reddy and KC and the Sunshine Band.

Karla Hartley, who currently serves as producing artistic director at Stageworks Theatre in Tampa, directs this fast-paced production, which features actors Heather Krueger (Bright Lights Big City at Freefall Theatre; Let's Hang On, Franki Valli tribute show); Ericka Womack-Brown (In the Heights and The Rocky Horror Show at American Stage, MOMologues 2 at Stageworks, and choreographer for 9 to 5 at Show Palace); Zander Morales (Stageworks, Repertory Theatre of Iowa, Stage West, Busch Gardens, Spanish Lyric Theatre, Des Moines Playhouse); and Danté J.L. Murray (Aida, Big River, Side Show, Frankenstein — A New Musical). The music director is Phyllis Gessler; the choreographer is Alexus Nagy.

There will be matinee and evening shows Saturday to Aug. 13 at the Show Palace Dinner Theatre, 16128 U.S. 19, Hudson. Tickets are $50.50 plus tax. Youth and group rates are available. Call (727) 863-7949 or go to showpalace.net.
