Comic Sinbad performs Dec. 21 at Capitol Theatre

Here's how likable Sinbad is: As a young comic in the mid 1980s, Sinbad beat Dennis Miller on Star Search. America just loves the guy. This time of year you are likely to come across Jingle All the Way, where his postal worker character spends the movie elbowing Arnold Schwarzenegger out of the way as both dads desperately try to score the hot action figure for their sons for Christmas. The comic storyteller was ranked by Comedy Central as one of the top 100 comedians of all time because of his clean, family-friendly persona and animated antics. He's performing at the Capitol Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Saturday. 405 Cleveland St., Clearwater. Tickets are $39-$85. Sharon Kennedy Wynne, Times staff writer
