It's time for the Florida Orchestra to close out its wide-ranging season of guest conductors and look forward to welcoming new music director Michael Francis permanently in the fall. The orchestra caps off the current masterworks season with a program under the direction of Larry Rachleff, music director of the Rhode Island Philharmonic. Selections include Rossini's popular overture to the opera Semiramide followed by Beethoven's joyful Symphony No. 8 and Sibelius's sweeping ode to nature, Symphony No. 5. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday at the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts and 8 p.m. Saturday at the Mahaffey Theater in St. Petersburg. There is no Sunday performance. $15-$45.
