Florida Orchestra to sell on-stage seats

For the first time, the Florida Orchestra is offering limited on-stage seating at six of this season's masterworks concerts starting with Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1 on Nov. 8 and 9. There will be six seats available for $75 for that concert, but the number will vary for other concerts depending on the number of musicians required. On-stage seating will be available at only two concerts at Ruth Eckerd Hall because of the smaller stage. "We hope this new initiative will provide an opportunity for more adventuresome music lovers to see and hear a concert from our musicians' unique perspective," said orchestra chairman Tom Farquhar. Reservations are available at (727) 892-3337 and at the orchestra ticket center at 244 Second Ave. N in St. Petersburg.

    Bars & Spirits

I've long wondered why viognier isn't a more popular wine. With its seductive floral aromas and luscious fruit flavors, it's one of my favorite whites.
