Sunday is Pets in the Park Night for 'The Wiz'



Toto makes only a brief (but oh-so-cute) appearance in American Stage's The Wiz in the park and maybe that's a good thing Sunday. That's Pets in the Park Night, when pooches get in free. And suddenly everybody wants to be Toto — except those that come dressed as Dorothy. Costumes, please! The Tony Award-winning musical hits the right tempo for the park setting along St. Petersburg's waterfront, says Times performing arts critic Stephanie Hayes (read the review at Reserved seats are available, but it's just as fun to pack a picnic and sit on the grass. Tickets cost $13 to $32 for shows Wednesdays through Sundays at Demens Landing, 100 First Ave. SE, St. Petersburg. The show runs through May 4. (727) 823-7529.
