'The Lonesome West' marks 10 years for Jobsite at Straz

The Lonesome West, a play by award-winning filmmaker and playwright Martin McDonagh, marks a milestone for Jobsite Theater: 10 years as the resident company of the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts in Tampa. The production is part of a trio of plays set in the small town of Leenane in rural Ireland, where two brothers living alone in their father's house after his death erupt into violent disputes over the most mundane topics. Only the local priest is willing to jump in and help. Incidentally, Jobsite's first production as resident theater company a decade ago was part of the same trilogy by McDonagh, The Beauty Queen of Leenane. There is a preview tonight at 8 ($10), with additional shows at 8 p.m. Friday-Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday, through Aug. 4. Tickets start at $28. (813) 229-7827.
