Tampa Bay LGBTQ events for Nov. 8-14

The Tampa Bay area is full of LGBTQ-related events this week. Here are a few to check out.

Local LGBTQ events

LGBTQ Film Screening: Real Boy

In Real Boy, a trans teen navigates sobriety, adolescence and the ramifications of publicly changing gender. Free. Gulfport Public Library, 5501 28th Ave. S, Gulfport. (727) 893-1074. 7 p.m. Nov. 8.

‘Dike’ at Urbanite Theatre

In the Hannah Benitez play, sisters from a religious family reunite and explore love, sexuality and sisterhood, questioning the walls religion and social conditioning build. Tickets are $5 to $31, some performances sold out. Urbanite Theatre, 1487 Second St., Sarasota. Runs Nov. 9-Dec. 16.

Youth Advisory Council

LGBTQ+ youth and allies ages 13-18 can join Metro Wellness for a leadership opportunity. LGBTQ Welcome Center, 2227 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. metrotampabay.org. 6-7 p.m. Nov. 9.

LGBT Work Out

A workout designed to make the LGBTQ community and their friends feel good about themselves, their workout and their lives. $30. Crossfit ABF, 18538 U.S. 19 N, Clearwater. (727) 742-6486. 9:30-11 a.m. Nov. 10.

Peacocktail Party

Mr. & Miss Tampa Pride 2019 The community pageant will crown Mr. and Miss Tampa Pride 2019, with cash prizes. Straz Center for Performing Arts, 1010 N Macinnes Place, Tampa. 3 p.m. Nov. 11.

The Trans Monologues

To kick off Trans Empowerment & Awareness Week, Metro Wellness hosts an open mic for trans and gender nonconforming people to create a space of connection and affirmation. LGBTQ Welcome Center, 2227 Central Ave., St. Petersburg. 7-9 p.m. Nov. 12.

Red & Green Party tickets

Buy tickets in advance for St. Pete Pride’s Red & Green Party on Dec. 1. The holiday event brings together 400 LGBTQ community members and supporters at the Sunken Gardens for drinks, a silent auction, drag and more. Tickets are $41.20 at stpetepride.com.
