Busch Gardens, SeaWorld offer big ticket deal

This theme park deal just might be good enough to take a day off work: SeaWorld Orlando and Busch Gardens are offering $50 weekday tickets through Dec. 20.

These are the same parks that just raised their ticket prices, SeaWorld to $92, Busch Gardens to $89.

The deal is available online to U.S. residents at SeaWorldOrlando.com or BuschGardensTampa.com, or by calling toll-free, 1-888-800-5447.

For an extra $25, guests can tack on a visit to the Aquatica Orlando water park with the SeaWorld weekday ticket, or to the Adventure Island water park in Tampa with the Busch Gardens ticket.

This spring, SeaWorld Orlando opened Antarctica: Empire of the Penguin, with a ride that ends in a huge colony of nearly 250 penguins.

Busch Gardens recently confirmed it is temporarily closing its popular Crown Colony and Garden Gate restaurants, a sign that the theme park could be feeling the competition of major new attractions at other Florida theme parks.

I've long wondered why viognier isn't a more popular wine. With its seductive floral aromas and luscious fruit flavors, it's one of my favorite whites.
