TAMPA – Three adorable lion cubs will soon make their debut at a habitat near you.
The cubs, two females and one male arrived earlier this year from South Africa and are among more than 12,000 animals at Busch Gardens Tampa.
Once the cubs are large enough, guests will be able to catch a glimpse of them in the Edge of Africa area of the park in the lion and hyena habitat.
Until then, updates about the cubs' progress will be posted on BuschGardensTampaBlog.com.
The addition of the cubs is part of a partnership between Busch Gardens and a private zoological facility in South Africa, which enhances the sustainability of lions living in managed care in the U.S. and the park's breeding program.
Lion populations are in sharp decline across Africa. The SeaWorld & Busch Gardens Conservation Fund supports several projects in Africa, which work to protect and preserve the species.
